Business expansion

Ready for the next stage of growth?

Keen to launch a new product or service?

Want to claim a new market?

Considering M&A?

Need to raise capital?

Unsure if you’re ready to stake everything on the next move?

Let us end the limbo.

Having helped dozens of private, government, and third-sector organizations grow their footprint, we know what does – and does not – work.

Vision is not enough for successful expansion. We will pressure test whether all the required factors come together for you, taking you through a series of decision framed by our findings.

Imagine the satisfaction if our work confirms that you’re ready. That said, both “no” and “not now” are invaluable answers if they save you years of angst, investor rage, and loss of life-long relationships and a lifetime of savings.

While the upside is enticing, strategic expansion is much riskier than organic growth.  And risk is costly when managed poorly. Whatever your final decision, we will save you hundreds of thousands of dollars in just a couple of weeks.

Services

  • Includes:

    • 4 hours of consultation informed by our research

    • The readiness assessment for your U.S. expansion

    Cost: USD 3,750

  • Opportunity analysis is rigid for a reason: it forces one to address, validating with market research, all the important questions, however uncomfortable. Such as:

    • What is the opportunity, and why does it exist?

    • What are the customer segments, and why would they choose from us?

    • What would be the operational model, i.e., the key activities, resources, partnerships, cost structure and revenue model?

    • What financial commitment is required, and what is the right mix of start-up capital (equity, debt, donations, grants, etc.)?

    • What would an “A team” look like?

    • What should be the launch vs the growth strategy?

    • What are the risks – and why aren’t they a deterrent?

  • You shouldn’t start a kitchen refurbishment without understanding full costs, and those should include the labor, materials, and equipment as well as more expensive meals while you can’t cook and the cost of not doing other things personally or professionally. Similarly, in considering expansion, model exactly what your future venture will look like: specific revenue streams; fixed and variable costs as they come online, including costs of goods sold (COGS); depreciation; cost of capital; EBIT and EBITDA; valuation according to sector metrics to inform exit options; running breakeven that justifies investment ask.

While not for the faint of heart, this confronting process will validate your good judgement and test your blindside. In our experience, robust financial modelling materially increases investor confidence. Above all, with so much out of your control, financial modelling puts control over expansion into the hands of the shrewd businessperson.

  • With millions of dollars raised through private equity, strategics, M&A, foreign direct investment, pension funds, grants, and debt financing, we are the right partner to equip you to pitch to the most skeptical funders. Concise, compelling, and in step with the conversation occurring in the listener’s mind, our investment materials methodically remove obstacles in the way of your idea becoming reality. Note: we do not raise money for you.

Enter the U.S. or Australia

If your vision is of international expansion, we are well positioned to help you claim the U.S. or Australian markets.

Where it comes to the U.S., claiming a share of the world’s most competitive market can take your business to a whole new level, but it comes with perils to match. Let us help set you up for success.

Capital raising

Capital raising is rarely a short straight line to a bank deposit. However, our track record significantly outperforms the odds that show that expansion bankrupts many start- and scale-ups, and even mature ventures often fail to secure expansion capital. While we do not raise money for you, our financial modeling has unlocked private, public, and pension funds and significantly improved overall operations.
